Apparently being the best assist man in Europe gets you a two-year deal over there. Awesome for him. Sure, he may not be in the NBA right now, but he's getting a chance to play basketball for a living, in a beautiful place no less. I hope his success continues.

I agree. I have a few close friends that are currently playing overseas. I know Omar is a bit too old now, but for the younger players that opt to go out of the country it could be a sort of "prep school" to get into the NBA. One friend took that route, played in Italy for 11 months, entered the D-League and got a call-up from Utah. Another also worked his way into the D-League and was picked up by Cleveland. So, they're living proof that life the unconventional way does not mean a dead-end basketball career. Kudos to Omar and all the other players overseas and in non-NBA leagues working hard out there!
