Lavin -- the business man...
Lavin is definitely a business man. He analyzed a problematic situation, did some research, pulled the resources he obtained from some substantial years on the circuit, drew up some projections and is doing what he set out to do -- create the best winning environment possible. No luck here! The greatest thing about it is that I don't think he or the staff he put together are one-hit wonders when it comes to recruiting Harkless. Looks like it'll only get better for St. John's and, subsequently, NYC basketball as a whole from this point on. As for Sledge, he'd be a nice addition to the Johnnies' backcourt. What he lacks in height, he makes up with speed, vertical and precision. In pretty much every big game I've seen him play, he was the unstoppable X-factor, the "un-caused causer," the unmoved mover, the unchecked checker.... Long story short, you'd rather have Sledge on your team than have to play against him.
